    General Summary

    We are currently looking for a Leader, Distribution Engineering who will be responsible performing engineering and/or project management on projects to construct new or maintain existing distribution and transmission substations and lines. This person will act as a primary customer contact for external distribution and transmission customers and will supervise engineers/technicians.


    Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    •Supervises a team of engineers and technicians to perform design and support services related to electrical distribution and transmission systems.
    •Defines and develops core engineering services and competencies critical to the long-term success of GRE.
    •Performs engineering, technical support, and project management to meet customer needs.
    •Acts as GRE’s lead distribution engineering expert.



    •Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 6+ years of experience in power system design required.
    •Must have a professional engineer registration in the state of Minnesota.
    •Proven leadership skills required.
    •Experience managing or performing engineering on large and/or complex projects.
    •In depth knowledge of and application of industry safety codes, standards, practices and rules.
    •Strong decision making skills.
    •Knowledge of distribution system computer modeling software.
    •Knowledge of distribution system protection techniques.
    •Ability to promote a culture of safety.
    •Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships, both internally and externally, and establish credibility with business partners.
    •Skilled at effective communications at both technical and leadership levels. Skills must include good interpersonal skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
